Description

Messier 109 (NGC 3992) is a barred, spiral galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781.  Also known as the, "Vacuum Cleaner" galaxy, it's calculated 83.5 million light years from Earth, 13.25 billion years old, with a population of 1 trillion stars.
