Description

Finally!

The beautiful regions in the Cygnus constellation are finally in view, and what a sight to see.

This is slight above and to the right of Sadr - just a random patch I found in Stellarium and then pointed the scope at for a little over 4 hours Friday night. This region is a gorgeous star forming region about 1,800Ly away - very active, and very bright!

Using the IDAS NBZ filter, and isolating both Hydrogen-Alpha and Oxygen-3 ionization wavelength’s for individual processing, I was able to separate the colors to show the dramatic mixture of elements in this scene. Comparing this to the L-Extreme’s performance, I am extremely pleased to have made the switch.

This is only 4-ish hours of data on the new camera and filters, so I can not wait to see what a normal run of 12-16 hours would look like.

Enjoy!!
