Description

LBN 468 is a faint dark nebula in the constellation of Cepheus bordering Draco and resembling a scorpion's tail. Embedded within it at the upper left is Gyulbudaghian's Nebula, a variable reflection nebula about 1' to 1.5' in size. It is about 1,600 light years away.

This image continues my current obsession with finding bits of space dust -- difficult to image and to process. This is a natural color image containing about 8 hours of integration time and is my second attempt, having imaged it all night earlier in the week and finding all of my data unusably corrupted. Sad, but I think we made up for it here.
