Description

This is always a favorite of mine.  I shot this about a year ago with my Redcat 51 setup.  It always amazes me the ridiculous number of background stars around this nebula.  While I am more than a purist at heart and I tend to not use plugins like StarXTerminator for anything other than reducing the green tinge we all get on our stars due to excessive green almost all OSC cameras suffer.  That being said, in the case of NGC6888 especially I will make an exception, as the detail in the central gas clouds with even my little Vixen telescope, there is an amazing amount of detail.  My initial image will have stars and my second image will have the stars removed so one can view the detail in the central core.

Title: NGC6888 - No stars

Description: This is the nebula with the stars removed. On my original with stars, even with the cropped image the plate solver in PI stated that there were 19,431 stars. Thats just crazy. The details with the stars removed amaze me that a simple 4" refractor can obtain this much detail. Now imaging in Bortle 1 skies does help for sure.
