Description

This image is the first light of my new Askar 107 PHQ. I still have to improve something with the guide, probably adding a counterweight will help the RST135 to better manage the approximately 12 kg of this setup. The evening was also very humid and the sky was not perfectly clear. I think there is still some room for improvement in ideal conditions.

M13, also designated NGC6205 and sometimes called the Great Hercules Cluster, is considered the most spectacular globular cluster in the northern skies.
Discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714, it was cataloged by Charles Messier in 1764. It is barely visible to the naked eye on dark nights and appears so large and bright because it is actually large and bright  and also relatively close, at around 25,000 light years. M13 probably contains more than a million stars and has a diameter of 165 light-years
