Description

As I setup for this capture, the Moon was just beginning to set behind the camera. The sky was cast blue from the brilliant moon light. Long shadows stretched across pasture and hillsides. As the Moon set, the night sky became warmer in tone, likely the influence of sodium lamps, yet still noticeably darker, except for the few domes of light on the horizon.

In this image, the planet Jupiter can be seen racing across the sky. And in the last few frames of the animation, the galactic core of the Milky Way can be seen just beginning to pop up over the horizon. If you look closely in the upper right corner, you might also see a few little meteors.
