I knew there were pretty clouds of hydrogen gas in the vicinity of this open cluster in the Carina constellation, very close to the great Eta Carinae nebula.

I had already imaged this beautiful object, but with little success, having not used an H-alpha layer.

This time, it is a completely renewed version, with new RGB images and especially the use of the H-alpha filter which makes it possible to reveal these famous clouds of gas.

Watch NGC 3503 and its molecular HII environnement ! The ultraviolet radiations of stars ionize the hydrogen gas.

Je savais qu'il y avait de jolis nuages de gaz d'hydrogène aux alentours de cet amas ouvert, dans la constellation de la Carène, tout près de la grande nébuleuse Eta Carinae.

J'avais déjà imagé ce magnifique objet, mais avec peu de réussite, n'ayant pas utilisé de couche H-alpha.

Cette fois-ci, c'est une mouture intégralement renouvellée, avec de nouvelles images RVB et surtout l'utilisation du filtre H-alpha qui permet de révéler ces fameux nuages de gaz.

Regardez ngc 3503 et son environnement moléculaire HII ! Les radiations ultraviolet des étoiles ionisent les molécules d'hydrogène.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
