Was able to capture a data set of NGC7331 from my driveway in a bortel 6 sky. It has been very hot in my area the past couple of days, and it never got below 85degs the whole time I was capturing data, with very high humidity, and using a DSLR, with no cooling, you can image the noise I got, which is still present after processing. I was able to still capture 2hrs 20.5mins of data give the extremely bad conditions, I had clouds early which cost me 30mins of time, and then I have an issue with the drivetrain in my LX200 mount that can cause its tracking to go all screwy when it gets to a certain section of the gearing. I don't guide so I just rely on the tracking ability of my mount and polar alignment. Its old over 27 years old, and over time its just getting wore out, probably could disassemble it and clean out the gearing, but if you know anything about a 12" LX200 they're a beast and I'm just not up to the task, looking to get a new drive next year, ZWO AM5 so I'll just wait till then. Anyway happy with the results, and my drive isn't horrible just an occasional hiccup.

Description: Used EZNoise exterminator and another round of BlurXTerminator. I know its better to use it on the linear data but I thought lets see if it helps after I processed it. Think it made the center of the galaxy more defined and there is a definite noise reduction.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
