Description

Captured this target over the past 2 night using a Radian Triad NB filter and took a few exposures with just an OIII filter to try and pull more of the blues out.   Overall, I am pretty happy with this.

The Helix Nebula is believed to be the closest of all the planetary nebula and is around 650 light years away.  It is one of the largest planetary nebula and covers an area about half that of a full moon.  It is estimated to be 2.5 light years across and around 10,600 years old.
