It would be nice to know how others have tweaked this nice little mount to make it even better.
From my side, the one tweak I did and that I can highly recommend is to replace that very short Vixen Clamp with something a lot better.
My issue with this clamp is that it is simply to short to properly grab the Vixen Style foot that comes with the Ascar acl200.
So what I did was to order a clamp that is suitable for both Vixen and Arca Suisse dovetails from Teleskop Express in Germany.
Then I 3D printed a small adapter to fit the screw holes of the custom clamp to the holes of the Skywatcher GTi.
Here's a closeup of the adapter plate and the clamp:
and here the fully mounted scope:
and here's the STL in case anyone is interested:

Forgot another tweak I did, a short extension for the counterweight bar which allows me to put the Askar in balance, it consists of a simple M12x60 Screw surrounded by a 3d printed part that has the same diameter as the original bar.

Hi To 3D-print the counter weight extension is a good idea! Thank you for this! For the dovetail, I need to check my needs with my equipment.
Thank you for sharing!
Clear skies, Jens

Where did you get the mount for the EAF? I like it mounted off to the side like that.

I designed & 3d printed it myself, only thing to buy is the GT2 belt, here's the STL:

Hi Michael, I'm looking for a similar setup. Can you share the clamp bought from Teleskop Express? Kind Regards, Piermi

I had the same issue ! And also designed a 3D printed adapter - but for another clamp style
The clamp I had is the same as this one : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001098158402.html and here is the adapter STL : https://www.printables.com/model/388265-star-adventurergti-replacement-vixen-adapter
It carries my Zenithstar 61II + reducer + guide scope + Asiair without issues.

Hi, do you mind sharing the STL for the counterweight extension bar? I was thinking of designing something exactly like this!

Good idea. Could you share the STL for this, please? Thanx in advance |
