1+ for changing the bearings periodicaly. I have changed the bearing on RA axis on my hyper-old EQ5, and upgraded the old Synscan with Onstep upgrade kit, and voila! From then on...all of my guidings are in the range 0.45" - 0.80" RMS, mostly around 0.5" - 0.6" RMS...carrying around 6.5 kg total weight.  |
