Description

NGC 5128 is really high in the sky for a long time from New Zealand now. I had a 3 hour session where I was experimenting with taking my subs at 120 gain and two minutes, but I've not been able to produce a good stacked image from that session.
I managed to get just over an hour of clear sky and tried imaging with my usual 4 minute exposure, but at 120 gain (instead of my usual 200), and this time it stacked great!
It's been on my l object list quite a few times, but I've always dropped it, as I thought it would be a bit too much of a challenge, but I'm glad I did. I will return to NGC 5128 again to get a longer integration time as soon as the skies agree, as I would love to get more detail in the peripheral dust lanes as well.
If your interested in Centaurus A, then I can warmly recommend Dylan O'Donnel's video on it: The most bizarre galaxy we can see is a KILLER - Centaurus A - YouTube

Description: I dropped one more bad frame and restacked with APP. I also used the Statistical Stretch script for the stretching as a compliment to GHS.
