Description

Last week I had a little break in the clouds and another hour or so to tinker with my new h-alpha scope. The wife found the view of me with one of our daughters Bluey blankets over my head an amusing sight, think I may need to find a more suitable shroud in order for me to see the laptop screen properly.

Thought I would experiment a bit with a smaller ROI, I aim to pickup a barlow at some point but for now a smaller ROI gives the effect of zooming in but without any actual increase in resolution. I assumed the tuning sweet spot would be consistent from one session to another and I might be able to keep the pressure tuning knob in position for the next time. It got me close but I did find on this occasion I had to back the tuner off a bit from the position I had it in last time, I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

My daughter is currently recovering from surgery so I doubt I'll get much opportunity for astrophotography in the next week or two, I have a few other clips in the bank to keep me busy with a bit of processing experimentation.

Thanks for looking and clear skies all.
Danny
