Description

Located in the southern constellation Carina, this E type ring nebula is a bubble of material ejected from the massive hot central Wolf-Rayet star WR 40. A celestial firework.
interesting that in many of the observed Wolf-Rayet ring nebulae of this type, that the OIII layer is seen at the leading outer edge of the shock wave, external to the H alpha emission.
This is a narrowband HOO image in Foraxx palette with RGB stars.
