Description

The Trifid Nebula, also known as Messier 20 or NGC 6514, is a stunning and dynamic stellar nursery located in the constellation Sagittarius. Its name comes from the Latin word "trifid," meaning divided into three lobes, which aptly describes its appearance. This nebula showcases a beautiful combination of emission, reflection, and dark nebulae, with intricate dust lanes that divide it into three distinct sections. It's a hotbed of star formation, with newborn stars illuminating surrounding gas clouds and creating a breathtaking celestial landscape.

This was shot under Bortle 3 skies. It being a bright target allowed for quite a ton of signal even for just an hour's worth of data. Will definitely revisit it again given the opportunity. I shot it at 542mm  but i found it to be really really gorgeous at a longer focal length (so i'd highly recommend a longer focal length for this beautiful object). This was cropped down from 542mm.

Clear skies!
